Overview

Amerita, Inc. is a leading provider in home Infusion therapy. We are looking for a Director of Managed Care to join our Sales team as we grow to be one of the top home infusion providers in the country. The Director of Managed Care Sales will report to the Vice President of Business Development and work remotely covering cover Payers in the Western Region of the country, including California, Colorado, Arizona, Texas and Utah.

 

Amerita is an entrepreneurial-founded company and a wholly owned subsidiary of PharMerica. The home infusion market is positioned for rapid growth driven by the aging population, increase in chronic diseases, robust pipeline of infusible drugs coming to market, and an industry shift from hospital delivery settings to lower-cost, high-quality alternative providers such as Amerita.

 

As a core member of the Sales team, you will be responsible for direct sales management and oversight of the contracting, implementation and development of select Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and other private payers for our branches in the Western United States. We will help you achieve your goals through continuous professional development and regular career progression discussions.

Responsibilities

As a Director of Managed Care Sales, you will...

  • Be responsible for the pursuit of business growth related to new payer contracting and up-sells delivering substantial and profitable growth for the company, including opportunistically working with the field sales teams to support current and expansion markets.
  • Act as payer liaison focused on addressing payer needs with appropriate resources and prioritization of value-added services and products.
  • Execute in the near term while charting the course for future years. Develop the business strategy in coordination with the VP of Business Development to achieve long-term objectives, as well as the development of new products, programs and services throughout the organization.
  • Oversee managed care contracting and credentialing, including negotiating terms with MCOs, TPAs, ACOs and PBMs.
  • Participate in events that are important to the business, including trade shows and educational events to promote company services, visibility and relevance with targeted payers.
  • Manage highly complex market dynamics, including payer issues, state and government regulations, provider payment issues, etc.
  • Consistently execute on business priorities and aligns team to the organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships across functional boundaries to generate support on issue resolution and opportunities.
  • Develop an annual sales plan and quarterly forecast updates.
  • Maintain sales pipeline, company contact management system and sales activity reporting as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare-related sales experience, preferably with contracting responsibilities (payer, PBM, hospital, etc.); home infusion experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as ability to build lasting client relationships
  • General business and financial acumen; understanding of managed care terminology, contracting environment, procedures and workflows
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company standards
